I think it's time I actually start posting. I'm not sure why I never got into it.
Lately, I've been trying to make new beginnings happen in my life. I think my personality feeds off of new experiences and inspirations. As I find out where I don't want my life to be at this point in time, I am actually directing myself more and more to the right paths. I've decided that writing is a very good path to be going down right now, so here's to this new beginning! I hope somebody out there will be able to share it with me.
In spirit of new beginnings, I have to say how much I love the fresh new looks for Spring/Summer '11 fashion. I, personally, am a very big fan of '60s and '70s fashion, so this season is going to be a dream for my wardrobe. I've always considered Fall to be my favorite season for fashion. It's becoming more clear to me that that is not the case anymore. Being in a lightweight, curve-accentuating summer dress is the best feeling in the world to me. On an emotional level, I connect to Spring and Summer much more, but I must say, garment construction-wise, I'm definitely still true to Fall fashion following. But for the sake of praying for sunny weather, let's take a look at some Spring looks that are now in stores:
High End:
Oscar de la Renta Printed Silk Maxi Kaftan (click image to view original site)
Just an FYI, Oscar is my absolute favorite designer, so you will see a lot of his work posted on here. I love his brilliant use of colors and abstract prints. This kaftan, to me, is truly artistic in every detail. The painting-like print flows beautifully with the silk. I think I could wear this dress every day of this summer.
Medium:
Anthropologie Tessera Dress (click image to view original site)
This dress speaks to my style (or what I hope it to be) 100%. This is one of those dresses that create the amazing feeling for me. I love it when a dress can create a very flattering hourglass figure, and still have an edgy look.
Lower:
Zara Open Work Dress (click image for original site)
A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E. Does anyone else fantasize about being Twiggy for a day when seeing this?
Thank you, Seattle, for snowing and being cold instead of sunny and dress-friendly. I guess it just gives us ladies more time to stock up our Spring/Summer collection.
